Life Insurance, Cancer, Legal, and Identity Theft Protection elections made during the enrollment period cannot be changed outside of open enrollment unless there is a family status change as defined by the Internal Revenue Code. Examples: marriage, divorce, death of a spouse, birth or adoption of a child, termination or commencement of a spouse’s employment or the transition of a spouse’s employment from full time to part time. Once a family status change has occurred you have 30 days from the event to make changes.
